My dearest mangafans! I´m looking for any Mangas in english language to improve my english knowlege. Can you suggest me any of your favourite Manga series?
Please tell me also a little bit about the story, so it will be easier for me to choose the right mangas for me.
You can also suggest any anime dvd´s to me in english language and RC2, learning by doing :wink:
Furthermore i would gladly know about your experience with learning by doing in the way of manga reading or anime watching.

Wie jetzt? Alles in Englisch? najut...
As far as I'm concerned, English mangas helped me a lot. My teacher once said: "The more English you read the more you will understand and like the language. But you have to read something, what's - in your opinion - interesting!" Well, it's true.
So...what Manga-genre do you like?
If shoujo: Hanakimi - A girl wants to meet a japanese boy whom she saw on TV doing high jump. So shes going to Japan, dressed up as a guy cause the school of the highjumper is aan all-boys school.

Ich hoffe, nicht in englisch erklären zu müssen, so gut bin ich nicht *G* Aber gut genug, das zu erklären!
Meine Favoriten in englisch:
I never red english Mangas (except of online ones), but I brought the american Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD Box, watched it at least two times and consullted a compter dictionary (much faster!) every time I didn't know the exact meaning of a word. I think it helped a lot and, fortunately*my englisch teacher seems to think the same :D
If possible I always buy america Anime-DVD releases, since I naturally can practise english through watching tham and - what's important to me as well - they got a technical quality far better than ours.

once we had to make a speech about any topic we liked in english. i chose "go". it was pretty easy, b/c i've read hikaru no go in english.^_^
since you didn't respond to senex' question, i'll recommend to you "parfait tic". it also is a shoujo-manga.
and now i have to describe the story? ha! wrong person! xD well, i'll try >-<"
it's about a girl (who lives alone??^^;; ) and two boys who just moved to the same house like the girl's. the girl fell in love with one of those guys but, in a mood to help, she broke something very important to him. the one, whome she felt in love with, seems very cold (or cool) and the other (i think he's the brother of the cold one) is something like a jigolo who doesn't know what real love is... or am i mixing up different stories again? O_o well, me likes it verrrry much~! <^o^>

Umm......you´re pretty wrong with a lot facts of "Parfait Tic" I have to say ^^ The girl ( Fuuko ) lives with her sister which is a mangaka together. The boys which moved into the same building are two cousins, Daiya who seems to be the playboy and Ichi who seems to be picking always on Fuuko. The three become good friends at first, she and Daiya are closer from the beginning cause both of them are kinda childish compared to Ichi, so she fell in love with Daiya. Later on she confessed to him and got rejected. Ichi helps her to get over the feeling of beeing rejected as a good friend and she gets to know that Ichi likes her. She thinks bout confessing to him but is afraid of getting rejected again, even as she knows that he likes her etc. ^^
I read the scanlations of this manga and like it a lot, I just review the main plot with only the 3 main characters, there are a lot more and there are other interactions etc. I didn´t mention. At the moment the group is working on vol.9 - in japan there are at the moment only 10 volumes out and it´s still ongoing ^^
The manga is one of my favourites - the plot is great and the art is gorgeous, I hope this manga will be published someday in germany as well, it´s one of many shoujo manga I would buy.
And to the phrase "learning by doing" - I´m reading scanlations since one till two years already I would guess, and am collecting 1300+ series / one-shots / doujinshis etc. ( everything excepted hentai >< - I have also an excel-file with all series and more information bout them listed, if you´re interested in seeing what scanlations etc. are available ^^ ) and am reading few chaps daily. Besides that I´m chatting a lot on mIRC in the english channels I´m getting all the releases from.
My english is still the worst ( grammar not to mention ), but I would say I´m able to say what I want to say and don´t have to think much bout what I wanna say. And bout watching animes......it´s the same........I like engl. subbed animes more then everything else.....or Dramas ( recently I started to watch them too........and got addicted to them XD )
Have fun reading engl. manga!! Am gonna read more yet.......got few minutes ago new yaoi and shoujo manga I have to read :wink:

@SenexII
Yes, i love shojomangas like magical girl with long legs and short miniskirts! :wink:
I also like this sexy rings round the legs like the girls in weddingpeach.XD
@ShadowAngel
Oh, if it´s made by clamp i´m sure i´ll love it, i remind me at the manga wish that i liked very much.
@sue-sama / Hien-san
The story of parfait tic sounds nice, perhaps i will order it.
@Hien-san
Dramas? Oh no, dramas may be to depressing, do you think it is good for the psyche? If i watch a depressing drama like a man who lies with cancer in a bed, dying, that make me feel sad and depressive :? .
So i rather prefer erotic- :oops: , horror-, actionfilms and at the first place of course ANIMES! :victory:
Well, if you have any interesting stories or similar things for me, i would be glad to get some of yours :wink:
But please no exel-file, because i don´t have excel any more... it´s a long story.. :?
Perhaps i will begin to write stories of animes or mangas myself.
That could become very funny, a short time ago i have written a short alternative ending of AIKa... but when it was ready and i read it again, i felt in shame :oops: , so i erased it immediately! :P
Erm...try Hanaukyo Maids. I've only seen one episode, but perhaps you'll like it. It's about a boy (an absolute Loser) who herits a really huge mansion with lots of cute maids in it. And their only wish is to serve their master.
It's a comedy/ hentai Anime ...

Well.....Dramas.........so far I love the korean dramas the most, my favouritest dramas at the moment are "Stairway to heaven" and "Summer Scent", I also like "Pride" and "Good Person" too, if you wanna know more bout the two dramas I like the most you can find reviews on this site: http://www.koreanfilm.org/tvdramas/ <- the both are at the end ^^
Do you wanna tell me the story bout excel? I prefer excel - and if you don´t have excel there is an excel-viewer on the site of microsoft available, free to d/l etc. ^^ It´s like the name says already only to view the excel-files, not to work with it ^^

If I won´t forget it I´m gonna send you my list tomorrow - later *peeks on her clock* Sure we can try to become mail friends, it´s been ages since I had a mail-friend, so we have to see if it works out, ne? ^^
Interesting topic and a good idea aswell.
As far as I am concerned, I learned english solely by reading Books Manga and fanfiction, it really is the fastest and most entertaining way of learning a language cause you don't have to force yourself to do it.
Looking back, I can savely say that my English teacher taught me nothing, she taught me the basics, but she didn't teach me how to actually speak english and how to use what she taught me about grammar.
Unfortunately though, the only english Manga I actually own, are 'X' by Clamp and Inu Yasha by Rumiko Takahashi.
X is quite easy to understand, generally at least, the story itself is rather depressing and a little confusing at times too.
It's not exactly my favorite Manga, but if you like Clamp, you'll like X.
Inu Yasha... it was shown, on RTL2 so you'll most likely know what it's all about ;) (no matter how much they cut out... I'll never forgive them, but my compaints don't belong here *could go on about it for hours*)
I also have a few english fan translations for Kaori Yuki's Manga, Blood Hound, Kaine, Boys next Door and such, even some Angel Sanctuary Translations (the latter aren't very good though, the grammar is more than a little off at times) if you want to know more about those you can PM me.
Oh, I also have Full Moon wo Sagashite Translations... *is looking through her files* I didn't even know that I still had those... interesting, some for Blame! too...
Well, as I said, if you are interested just PM me ^__^
i can recommend this page:
http://www.tokyopop.com/books/manga.php
i always look there for English Mangas, you can buy them at amazon.de
i bought Rave 3 and .hack there!

Lol, you have them too? That´s just gorgeous~~~ I just got the new chap yesterday -> Chap 26......I love this serie so much~~~ Oh....and you´re not maybe using mIRC, are you? If you are maybe I know you..or saw you idling in their chan XD
I learned most of my english from ol' video games several years ago. I continued with anime and hollywood-movies to improve my level. You really can learn a language if you keep on using it. So keep on watching english dubs, people. Usin' it is da only way to really master a language.

Watching movies is a good way to learn english too...also reading english novels......I mean.....I didn´t like it to read them in english lessons that much, but when you´re free to read what you want to, it´s just great ^^
